Meet Bill Golden
Bill has been in the hair industry for ten years. He is a skilled stylist who loves transformation styling and has a huge following. He gives one of the best men cuts in the industry.
Did you always want to be a hairstylist?
Not always although my exposure and influence of salon/barbershop life has always been strong. I love the craft and over the years I have seen friends and family grow within the industry. I've lived many lives before work wise.
What prompted you to get into hair?
I was working retail and other areas of the service industry for as far back as I can remember and needed a change. Becoming a stylist was an interest cooking on the back burner. So I decided to take the first step and go to beauty school.
What was your first hairstylist job?
I started nine years ago at a salon in Newton Center where I began as an assistant.
Can you tell us about a memorable moment you had while doing hair?
Honing the craft and my own personal growth as a stylist hold the most memorable moments for me.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of the job is when the client is being completely satisfied. It's an honesty and feeling that can't be matched.
Which hairstyles do you tend to do the most often?
Cutting is my specialty, primarily men's.
What are the biggest hair care do's and dont's?
Treat your hair right and ask questions. Don't overthink and keep expectations realistic.
When you are not making others beautiful, what is your favorite occupation?
Good friends, loud music, bad jokes.
